Fidelity Integrated Adopt New Automated Gate Standard

Fidelity Integrated Systems have installed and maintained Automated Gate Systems for many years as part of our comprehensive portfolio of technical services.

The National Security Inspectorate (NSI) have recently launched a new Quality Assured Gold standard accreditation in co-operation with the DHF Powered Gate Group in relation to the design, installation and ongoing maintenance of automated gate systems. Fidelity Integrated have chosen to adopt this new standard for all of our existing gate maintenance agreements and for all new installations and maintenance takeovers. This will perfectly compliment our existing NSI NACOSS Gold (Security Systems) and NSI BAFE Gold (Fire Alarms) accreditations that we hold.

It would be fair to say that there has been a huge change in the perceptions and understanding of the rules, legal framework, standards and culture within the automated gate industry over the last several years. This has been largely driven by the Health and Safety Executive in response to several tragic incidents involving automated gate systems, and Fidelity integrated Systems have followed these developments closely. Working strictly to new underlying code of practice, DHF TS011:2016, will ensure that our clients are receiving the most up to date professional and competent service in regards to automated gate systems.

For advice on any automated gate system, including your obligations as either an owner or a managing agent of such systems, and how the new code of practice may affect you, please contact our Service Department at service@fidelityintegrated.com

We wish Joe well on his travels, and based on the scenic photos we have already received from him we are sure he will not struggle in this regard! And we hope that he will return to the Fidelity fold once he has satisfied his travelling bug!

December 2014 - Fidelity Sponsored Ryan is Boxing Clever

Following the incredible success of Fidelity-sponsored Winter Paralympic Gold medalists Charlotte Evans MBE and Kelly Gallagher MBE, we are proud to announce the sponsorship of up and coming welter weight boxer Ryan French.

Ryan has been boxing for over 15 years, and his experience includes being three time South East School Boy champion, in addition to representing London and the military. He currently trains at Barry O’Connell’s gym in Hammersmith.

In his most recent bout he beat experienced Hungarian boxer Gabor Balor in 3 rounds by unanimous decision.

Going from strength to strength in the sport, Ryan is looking forward to an exciting future in boxing, ‘I felt strong against Balor, he was a formidable opponent and to get a unanimous win was a great step up in my career. With Fidelity’s support I hope to win a Southern area and English title, and my dream would be to win the Lonsdale Belt, otherwise known as the British Title.’

September 2014 - An Inspirational Song from Inspirational Women

Proud Fidelity engineer, Matt Finney, has told us of a fantastic project that his Mum has been involved in in the great cause of promoting and raising funds for Breast Cancer Research. Last year, Lesley Finney, and other women who have been affected by breast cancer, joined forces with International Classical singing star, Camilla Kerslake, and the group "Blake", to record a version of the Secret Garden song, "You Raise Me Up". They also produced a video and appeared together to perform the song on "This Morning"!

They were invited to get back together again to perform at this years "Inspiration Awards for Women" at the Cadogan Hall, London, which takes place on the 2nd October. This event celebrates remarkable women who inspire those around them. It includes a "Pink" carpet affair with lots of celebrity support to raise money for Breast Cancer Research.

Below are two video links to their video and TV appearance. If you are inspired by them also, them why not visit the Breast Cancer Research website and make a donation at this link.

June 2014 - "Fidelity Flyers" Make it to the Coast!

As reported previously, a team of Fidelity engineers has been preparing over the past few months for an endurance cycle challenge. After months of gruelling training led by our Project Manager, Mark, the "Fidelity Flyers" completed their London to Brighton cycle challenge and lived to tell the tale. The day was not without incident however, and there were reports of unscheduled stops along the way caused by various issues which included: saddles on the wrong way, hotdogs and apparently some thermal underwear! We have decided not to reveal anymore details of these episodes in the pursuit of decency.

There was a serious side to this event however, and the team managed to raise over £1,000.00 which has been donated to the British Heart Foundation. Another event is planned shortly for the London to Southend bike ride.  Well done "Fidelity Flyers"!

June 2014 - Evans and Gallagher Crown an Amazing Season

Fidelity integrated Systems were immensely proud to have sponsored Charlotte Evans and Kelly Gallagher this year when they won Britain's first ever Gold medal at the Winter Paralympic Games. They have since been riding a whirlwind of media and event engagements including guest of honour at St James Palace to present the Duke of Edinburgh awards and give a motivational speech.

They could not have imagined that this year could hold any higher honours than they have already achieved, but it has all been crowned by the announcement that they have both been awarded MBEs for services to Paralympic sport. Congratulations once again to the girls and the best of luck for the World Cup race season later this year.

May 2014 - BAFE Accreditation Consolidated for Fire Alarm Systems

Fidelity integrated Systems Limited achieved BAFE accreditation last year and we have been consolidating all the new requirements with our existing systems and accreditations. All new processes and procedures were audited and reviewed this month and were signed off at our annual review meeting.

The BAFE accreditation demonstrates that we now install and maintain Fire Alarm Systems to the high demands of the SP203 modular certification scheme. For our clients, that means peace of mind in the fact that they are employing a company regulated to the highest standards and we can provide documentary evidence in the form of BAFE Certification for commercial systems. This is in addition to the NACOSS Gold and ISO 9001 accreditations that we already hold for Security Systems installation and maintenance and for our Quality Management System respectively.

Fidelity can now provide a true "one stop" solution for Integrated Fire and Security solutions at standards that are second to none. To find out more about these services and accreditations, why not drop us a line at this email link, and we will get in touch with our usual free advice and guidance.

April 2014 - New Service Engineers and Apprentice Join Fidelity

The start of 2014 has seen three new members to the Fidelity service team. We welcome Matt Finney, Dave McKeown and Jack Fox. Matt and Dave have enhanced our field service support team with their experience and knowledge of Integrated Networked Security Systems and Fire Alarm and Life safety Systems, and they have quickly settled into the Fidelity fold.

Fidelity have invested in the future of the company with our apprenticeship and training schemes since 2007 and we have since seen two trainees join us as a career change choice, and two apprentices complete their three year training, to progress to skilled qualified engineers. Apprentice schemes appear to be in decline within our industry at present, but Fidelity Integrated have worked closely with Skills for Security to organise a package combining a day release college City and Guild Guild qualification which runs alongside a work base assessed NVQ award. We currently have Jason, who is approaching the second year of his apprenticeship, and our new apprentice Jack, who will be commencing college in September.

March 2014 - Fidelity Engineers "Get in the Saddle" for a Good Cause

The boys prepare for their weekly training     session

A group of Fidelity Integrated engineers, led by our intrepid Project Manager, Mark Edgar, have formed a team to take part in this years London to Brighton bike ride. They will be raising money in aid of a great cause, The British Heart Foundation.

Mark has setup a strict training regime and dietary plan for the team to follow so that they are in tip top condition for the day. However, when we asked one of the team to comment on how hard he was finding Mark's training schedule, he couldn't help but laugh and nearly choked on his Big Mac!

More seriously, we wish the boys all the best in their ongoing training. The event will take place Sunday 15th June and they will be sending out their requests for sponsorship over the coming weeks. So please take a minute to read any requests you may receive and, most importantly, dig deep!

If you would like to contact Mark regarding donations, please email him at this link.

February 2014 - It's Paralympic Gold for Gallagher and Evans!

Visually impaired alpine skier, and her guide Charlotte Evans have won Gold in the Alpine Skiing Super G event at the Sochi Paralympic Winter Games! Fidelity Integrated are proud to have been a sponsor for the girls in this fantastic achievement. In an historical result, Charlotte and Kelly have won Great Britain's first ever Gold medal at a Paralympic winter games. It is hard to over emphasise the significance of this result in a games which saw Team GB scoop multiple medals in their most successful haul ever. The alpine events were contested on the same slopes as the main Winter Olympic Games held in Sochi recently and the conditions on the snow were extremely challenging. Kelly and Charlotte had suffered disappointment in the opening Downhill event which they were tipped to succeed in, and they had to dig deep to pick themselves up for the Super G.

"Today we just decided to ski and see what happens." said Kelly, "I have to thank Charlotte for getting me to the line. We just threw ourselves at it. I prayed for the strength to ski and have fun."

Charlotte added, "It didn't feel as good as we wanted to on the course, but who cares. We won a gold medal and it feels amazing."

Congratulations Kelly and Charlotte from all at Fidelity Integrated Systems!

Each year they ensure that with the help of local businesses, all the pupils have a fun filled Christmas that includes a trip to the pantomime, Christmas dinner, presents and tree, a Christmas party and lots more. One of the pupils, Kiera, wrote to us saying:

"The party was phenomonal. We all let our hair down and danced and got our Christmas presents. Everyone was happy with what they got. All in all it was a very good Christmas and all the activities have made my experience very special."

November 2013 - Fidelity Integrated Move Into Their New Premises

The long awaited office move for Fidelity Integrated Systems finally took place over the first weekend of November. After seven happy and successful years at The Workhouse, things were getting a bit cramped to say the least. Our new offices at Stables Court in Orpington are only a short drive away from our old offices. We have an excellent location with easy links into Central London and also to the M25. The main reason for our move is to accommodate our growing support team to continue to ensure the high levels of customer service you have come to expect. The move was completed over one weekend, and like any move, we have slowly been sorting and unpacking a variety of boxes. A big thanks to all the Fidelity staff who went above and beyond the call of duty to make the transition as smooth as possible. We hope that we can now build on the success we achieved whilst at The Workhouse.

October 2013 - Philip Atkinson takes 1st at Brands and 3rd overall for the season

Fidelity sponsored Philip Atkinson (no relation to the MD!) had a fantastic final weekend of the 2013 Triumph Triple Challenge at Brands Hatch.

He took first place at  Brands and secured 3rd place overall in this years championship. Phil went into the race at 3rd place in the standings with Spaniard Aleix Alestia putting the pressure on in a close 4th place. Phil was cheered on by a contingent of Fidelity engineers and some of their family members.

Our Project managers's daugher, Caitlin, gets into race mode! Our Project Manager's daughter, Caitlin, gets into race mode!

It has been an exciting and eventful season for Phil. One of the highlights has to be the unfortunate weekend that Phil broke two of his ribs in practice. After a trip to the hospital, the ambulance was returning him to the track. Phil knew that any official who assessed him would most likely bar him from racing that day. So he instructed the driver to stop and drop him at the pits, started the race 8th on the grid and stormed through to take 2nd!

September 2013 - Sales and Service Management Changes

Dan French

Phil Kay

After two years of sterling work as our Service Manager, Phil Kay has now moved to the Sales team as a Systems Sales Manager. Many of our clients will know Phil as he is a long term member of the Fidelity team. Phil originally trained as an Integrated Systems engineer, and his in depth knowledge of Security and Fire systems, and his awareness of customer service levels, will be all be put to good use when working with our customers towards new installations and system upgrades (of which he hopes there will be many!)  Stepping into Phil’s shoes as Service Manager is Dan French. Again, many of our clients and suppliers will already know Dan. He has been a Senior Service Engineer with Fidelity for 5 years now. With his knowledge of Fidelity’s clients and focus on service, we know that he will be very successful in his new role.

August 2013 - Fidelity Integrated Sponsor the LSERSA Rising Star Award

This year, Fidelity Integrated Systems have sponsored a “Rising Star” award throughout the LSERSA (London and South East Regional Snowsports Association) summer artificial slope race season. This race series sees a whole range of ages and abilities compete across the region at various locations and also with other regional Snowsportassociations. Fantastic work is carried out by the various coaching staff, clubs and organizations within the region and it is a grass roots training ground for future British Ski talent. Winter Olympians Chemmy Alcott and Ed Drake both cut their ski race teeth in the LSERSA series. Winning a podium place at a LSERSA race is quite an achievement as the level of performance is very high. Budding new races need a few seasons experience under their belt before they can expect to be competing for trophies. That’s why we came up with the “Rising Star” concept. At each of the LSERSA races, the various club coaches get their heads together and decide on a male and female athlete that have worked hard, improved significantly and attended all training sessions in the period since the previous race. At the end of the season, an overall 2013 Rising Star, both male and female, were selected and they were presented with glass trophies to keep for the year by our MD, Andy Atkinson. Well done to Charlotte Tapsell and William McDonald-Proctor!
